Leading companies in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley have one thing in common; they view their people as their biggest assets. People centric organizations such as Google and Genentech have proven that their philosophy leads to sustained success, profitability and a motivated workforce.
HR is increasingly viewed as playing a crucial and essential strategic role within organizations. In fact, it can be said without hesitation that HR executives are seen today as guardians of organizational culture. They shepherd, encourage and define this culture by the people they hire and by the core principles they champion and the environment they create to assure the employees are supported.
WDHB Consulting Group, the world leader in Learning Expeditions, has designed an original Learning Expedition entitled Reinventing HR. A consortium of 5 companies are invited to send 5 executives each to participate in this program.
This program proposes to take HR executives on a learning journey to San Francisco and the Silicon Valley to rethink the purpose and practices of HR by exploring and understanding every aspect of the California model.
Key Themes:
- Getting great people to work for your company
- Understanding people in their complexity & how to engage them
- The importance of a culture of empowerment and how to create it
- The use of technology to support people in their way of living and working
- The California model, why it is successful and the differences with the French way.
- Successful and differing organizational models, the philosophies behind them and the people that drive them.
Why a consortium?
The richness of dialogue and points of view from top executives from 5 non-competing companies will create unparalleled insight and exchanges.
Inter company and intra company workshops will enable all participants to both validate learnings with people from different company cultures and to establish concrete plans of action for their respective organizations.
The program will take place August 23 -30, 2008. For more information, click here: reinventinghr@wdhb.com
